Furry Friends | Bethesda Family Photographer

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I am sort of kinda obsessed with my puppy, Lucy. She is a constant model and my little puppy princess. I've been an animal lover ever since I was old enough to crawl and pull on my poor dog's tail as a child. Luckily for me, he never once snapped or pulled back. It is amazing how animals can sense the difference between adults and children and put up with even the most annoying babies and love them all at the same time. I love love love it when families bring along their dogs to family shoots. Because after all, a dog isn't just a pet, they are a member of your family too.

My new backdrop | Bethesda Portrait Photographer

As hurricane Irene begins to terrorize my weekend photography plans, I thought it was high time I learned to set up a home studio for rainy/cold days. Here is my new backdrop and my usual models: Rob + Lucy. :-) Lucy has an excuse for not being shaved, but Rob on the other hand does not.

Wedding Details | Bethesda Wedding Photographer

One of my favorite parts of photographing a wedding are the bride's details. What you wear on your wedding day reflects your style and taste and makes everything so personal. This bride was in LOVE with the back of her dress and the little sparkles on the sides. It was so beautiful. Her flowers were simple and chic, just like her.

Samanth Bree Part 2 | Bethesda Family Photographer

It has been such a pleasure watching little Samantha grow up this past year. When I first met her, she was a little baby with the most beautiful big brown eyes. Until you watch people's lives in pictures, you never realize how quickly little ones grow. She is now 1 years old and a little girl, not a baby.

The Olson Family | Herndon Family Photographer

The Olson's were a dream to photograph. As I pulled up to Frying Pan Farm in Herndon, I could not believe the amazing location they had picked. They visit the farm often throughout the year and it holds a dear place in their heart. These are some of my favorite images from the summer and I can't thank them enough for introducing me to my new favorite spot in Virginia.

Adventures in Restaurant Week | SAX (aka the Moulin Rouge)

Some people look forward the opening week of their favorite sports, others the first day of school. My favorite two weeks of the year revolve around....you guessed it...food. D.C. Restaurant week is the time to go out and try new fancy pants restaurants that you ordinarily wouldn't go to or couldn't afford other than a special occasion. This go around, a friend of mine set up dinner at this new lounge downtown called "SAX". Now, this place is so "secret", that there wasn't even a sign on the front door. The cab driver who dropped me off was like "are you sure this is the right place?". I shrugged my shoulders and replied "I sure hope so, but if someone grabs me and pulls me inside when I knock on the front door, please call 911".
I felt like Dorothy in the wizard of Oz at the gates of the Emerald City(get it, Dorothy, hahaha, I crack myself up). The doors opened up and instead of the munchkins cheerily greeting me, scandalously clad ladies, floor to ceiling red velvet walls, crystal chandeliers, and serious looking guys in black suits ushered me in. I could write buckets about this place, but I think the best way to describe it is if the Moulin Rouge met Eyes Wide Shut and had a baby, that would be SAX.
The food was delish but I must say my favorite thing was that they had a huge champagne bar with a bazillion(take that debt ceiling!) different kinds of bubbly goodness.  My new favorite drink in the whole wide world is  called "Hana Hou Hou Hana Sparkling Sake." It was like magic in my mouth.

Baby Nora | Bethesda Baby Photographer

Baby Nora was kind enough to come over last night to help me test out my new studio equipment. 3 things you should know about her: 1) She LOVES goldfish{the edible kind} 2) She is a huge fan of the song "if you're happy and you know it" 3) She loves FEEDING Lucy the goldfish more than eating them!
She cracks me up.

The Kim Family | White House Mini Session

The Kim boys came marching towards me that hot July morning with warm smiles to match the temperature.  I asked them if they liked to race, of course the older brother insisted he could beat his little brother. They both held their own and their images really show what a great morning we had at one of the most iconic landmarks in Washington, D.C., the White House. There was some sort of debt deal going on at the time...I bet they wished they were outside hanging out with us instead!

Brooke's 2nd Birthday | Bethesda Family Photography

I've had the pleasure of knowing this feisty little redhead since she was a whole 1years old. She is spunky sweet and her smile melts my heart.
